A very fond farewell … for now
Well, the Romanian adventure at Euro 2008 is over. As many of you know, my real allegiance in international football lies elsewhere, with the Scotland team, and now that the Euros are over for Romania, I’ll be going back to covering the daily trials and tribulations of my favorite side. World Cup qualifying will be ramping up this fall, and though the Tricolorii and the Scots are in different groups, I probably will not be covering Romania for those qualifiers. Hopefully we can find someone more completely devoted to the team, because even though things didn’t finish the way we would have hoped, it’s a great team with some great talent (and fantastic fans), and they deserve to be covered well here.
I give no promises that I won’t be back here, and I’ll reserve the right to poke in and make my opinions known when news about Romania pops up, but I have to get back to my own team. I hope all the great readers and commenters here on the blog will come over to both the Euro 2008 main page and The Offside to keep up with our coverage of the rest of the tournament and the return to club football, which is not far away at all.
Thanks, everybody, for all the great comments. It’s been a lot of fun getting to know Romanian football better. Like I said, I’m not going anywhere, and I hope to see you all on the other blogs as well as this one in the future. Cheers.

I forgot to add that I agree with Ian. Romania has a great team that deserves to be always covered. I also hope that someone can help Ian with that task.
