Another One? Seriously? Coman to Miss Euros

First Romania loses its best defensive midfielder. Now, its second keeper. The news has come down the wire today that Danut Coman is out for Euro 2008. The Rapid Bucharest keeper was set to back up Bogdan Lobont in the Romania goal, but apparently he broke a finger in pre-tournament training. And Christian Chivu, the captain himself, is feeling a bit under the weather after Inter’s Coppa Italia defeat to Roma. As if being drawn in a group with France, Italy and Holland isn’t hard enough … now the injuries are piling up. Bad news all around for the Tricolorii, and now Lobont is that much more important to the Romanian cause, because if he goes down, Victor Piturca’s second choice is not going to come to the rescue.
