like father, like son
The task of leading “tricolori” has been solved as the job has been handed to Răzvan Lucescu by the Romanian Football Federation. With a goal of reviving Romania’s Euro 2012 efforts, the Federation has chosen a young manager who has already experienced tremendous success leading FC Braşov and Rapid Bucureşti after his playing days concluded. The announcement of his appointment was immediately met with positive comments by his peers, all confident that his leadership will return Romania to the heights of the game.
For Romania fans his appointment also marks an interesting return of the family name as his father Mircea Lucescu, presently Shakhtar Donetsk manager, led Romania in the early 1980’s including their 1984 World Cup appearance.
