Personal Troubles for Mutu

We’ve already reported on this on the main page, and our reader Danezu has pointed it out in the comments, but I wanted to make a quick post wishing the best to Adrian Mutu. It’s not often that you lose a close relative and get handed down a 12-million-Euro fine in the same weekend. I have all faith that Mutu will get through this and thrive at Euro 2008, but we’ll have to just wait and see. Sometimes, like in the case of Frank Lampard a month ago, this kind of personal tragedy can motivate and focus a player. If that’s true, then watch out, Group C.
